Great Basin Chiropractic Salt Lake Wellness Center
Journey Toward Health and Wellness
Hi, I am Dr. Resetarits.
My patients call me Dr. Mark. I grew up in a family that used chiropractic care regularly. My grandfather, a great supporter and advocate of Chiropractic care, was part of my inspiration to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. He read many books about health and healing and was a firm believer in the body's ability to heal itself. My personal interest in Chiropractic care arose out of my study of the natural world and spending great amounts of time in nature observing our natural environment. My personal experiences in the natural world, coupled with constant study of first the natural world, and later the world of healing, lead me to the Chiropractic profession. It is one of the greatest gifts in my life. In my career as a Chiropractor, Salt Lake has become my home. Salt Lake is a great city with wonderful people and beautiful surroundings.
Doctor means teacher, and I enjoy that aspect of being a Doctor of Chiropractic or Chiropractor. Salt Lake City has given me an important place for my work. The oath I took at graduation from chiropractic school states "I will keep the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the sick as my first most duty ....". I do my best to honor that oath, offering chiropractic health care in an integrated approach designed to meet your needs, including Body, Mind and Spirit. As a chiropractor, Salt Lake has given me a pool of people from many faiths, but we all have the same needs of the spirit as a part of our journey towards health, wellness and vitality.
Our commitment at Great Basin Chiropractic is to provide precise chiropractic adjustments which will enhance your overall health, and more specifically promote a healthy nervous system. This is important because the nervous system controls the function of every cell tissue and organ in your body. When your nervous system is out of balance (there are two branches that control the stress response or the relaxation response) it is in a state of dis-ease, which in turn can lead to disease. When our nervous system is functioning in a balanced optimal way, our entire body, all of which is controlled by the nervous system, functions more optimally, leading to increased health and vitality and a flexible spine. A flexible spine also decreases or minimizes the risk of spinal degeneration, known as osteoarthritis and minimizes the risk of degenerative disc disease, disc bulges or disc herniation, (generally referred to as a slipped disc). These degenerative processes manifest as pain after years of compromised joint motion (subluxations) being present. Chiropractic care today, ensures ideal spinal motion, minimizing spinal degeneration in the future. — Dr. Mark Resetarits, Chiropractor, Salt Lake City Utah
